SEPTEMBER RECAP

I finished 4 goals in September and made progress on 5 or 6 more.

#13 Finish Mother Bears.

#82 Take a family selfie once a month for a year. (Oct 2020 - Sep 2021)

September selfie (I really wanted the last one to have all 5 of us in it but Ben was in LA and there were no other times this month that all 5 of us were together at the sametime)

#93 Make a Chester photo book

#97 Volunteer somewhere ( 1000 Islands)

So I have finished 38 goals and have 63 goals left to accomplish. Some will definitely have to wait until next summer. I'd like to finish the sewing goals over this coming winter. I have been doing my word puzzle book more often, hoping to finish in October.

AUGUST RECAP

I finished five goals in August (and the first few days of September).

#4 - Complete a devotional book - I finished Less Clutter, More Joy by Karen DeBeus

#48 - Went on a Lake Geneva cruise with Jay on 8/4

#51 - Visited a National Park (actually 3) - Badlands, Devil's Tower, and Mount Rushmore, the week of 9/29 to 9/4

#52 - Travel to a new state - South Dakota from 8/29 to 9/3, and Wyoming on 8/31

#54 - Visit 3 new cities - Sioux Falls, SD, Lead, SD, Keystone, SD, Rapid City, SD, Rochester, MN

IN SEPTEMBER:

I didn't knit much the last week or two of August so I didn't finish the Mother Bears. They both just need faces. I'm sure I will finish them in September.

I will finish the year of monthly selfies this month. I started last October when I started this list.

I might finish the word puzzle book.

I'd like to try geocaching or letterboxing.

I've been slowly learning The Star Spangled Banner for my piano song I want to learn well. I'll keep working on that.

I plan to start memorizing Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

****With the 5 goals I finished the month I have about 1/3 of the goals completed in about 1/3 of the 1001 days. So I'm on track!****

JULY RECAP

Ha ha, most of my lofty goals for July didn't happen. I did complete 2 things though:

#25 I finished or attempted to read all the books mentioned in Eight Perfect Murders including that book.

#85 Finish a Sudoku puzzle.

**************************

I made progress on many goals, such as reading my devotion book almost daily, starting 2 more Mother Bears which I will finish in August then that goal will be complete, worked in my puzzle book, took the family selfie, bought a cactus I'm calling Joan 😀 (#11 small home improvement project).

Lord willing I will be finishing at least 3 or 4 goals in late August/early September because we'll be going to South Dakota on August 29 and I will finish both Mother Bears which will complete that goal.

JUNE RECAP

June was a busy month and I didn't finish any goals though I made progress on most of the same goals as in past months. I won't list them again.

I have some lofty goals for July. I'd like to work on #10, 11, 13, 20, 25, 32, 33, 46, 56, 78, 82, 85, 93, 95, 99, 101.  The two I think I might be able to finish are #25: Read the book 8 Perfect Murders, and #85: Complete a Sudoku puzzle. The rest are mostly all goals I can only work on but not finish due to the nature of the goal (such as take a family selfie every month for a year, that won't be complete until October, and knit 3 Mother Bears - I have one done and don't want to do two more in the same month but I will knit one in July and will probably make the final one this fall).

I hope to have a better update next month. :-)

MAY RECAP

From my April recap, what I had hoped to finish in May (only finished 2) with comments after each one:

#26 Read a book randomly pulled off a library shelf. I have a book but haven't started it yet. I DNF books a lot so there is no guarantee this goal will be completed with this particular book YES, I finished this one. I read Confessions of a Curious Bookseller by Elizabeth Green and I rated it 5 stars. Many people rated it low on Goodreads, but for the reasons they hated it, I loved it.

#32 Play a game of Canasta with live opponents on the app instead of just playing against the computer, then I will call this goal done. Ideally I'd like to play against people in person but I'd need to get 3 more people and try to teach them. I'm note sure if anyone would be interested in this. Sigh, I barely played this at all, got out of the habit.

#43 Find something to put my pencil collection in and put it on the bookshelf next to my desk. YES, I finished this one! I've been wanting to get something for my pencils for years. I was browsing at Hobby Lobby with Allison and I saw this watering can and thought it would be a cute way to display my pencils.

#53 Walk on the trail starting in Hortonville with Jay and Allison No, hope to do this in June

#68 Watch Pride and Prejudice - maybe while Jay is gone to his friend Dave's mid-month? No, Jay didn't end up going to see his friend and I didn't watch this. He's going to the races in Elkhart Lake for 4 days in 2 weeks, maybe I'll watch it then.

#88 Spend a day going to garage sales with Allison No, maybe in June?

#94 Give a book/take a book from a neighborhood library No, maybe in June?

***************

I made progress on most of the same goals from previous months, since many of these will take awhile to complete. I will continue with those. For June "goals I hope to finish" I'll focus on the unfinished goals from May that I wanted to do, plus maybe #56 - Eat a whole meal with chopsticks, maybe I'll work on that.

And now it is SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

APRIL UPDATE

I only finished 1 goal in April:

#24 - I hosted a Reading Day with my sisters. Ginny, Kathy, and Lynn came. We read, we talked, we ate Red Robin, and we played Milwaukee Salad.

However, I made progress on quite a few goals:

#3 - added at least one attribute of God to my list

#4 - completed 2 entries (lessons? devotions?) per day in my book by Karen DeBeus

#23 I read one book over 500 pages (goal is 3) - The Secret History by Donna Tartt

#25 Above book is one of the books in Eight Perfect Murders - I have one book left which I have on hold at the library

#32 Still practicing Canasta on an app

#33 Practicing piano at least 3 or 4 days a week - waiting to be a little better to choose a song to learn to complete this goal

#78 Added change to my container

#82 Took the monthly selfie

In February I went bowling with Allison (#70) but I don't think I ever recorded it here. We've gone bowling 3 times so far with the Green Bay homeschool group. Somehow I bowled a 144 which is a miracle. I'm happy if I break 100 which I don't always do.

What I hope to finish in May:

#26 Read a book randomly pulled off a library shelf. I have a book but haven't started it yet. I DNF books a lot so there is no guarantee this goal will be completed with this particular book

#32 Play a game of Canasta with live opponents on the app instead of just playing against the computer, then I will call this goal done. Ideally I'd like to play against people in person but I'd need to get 3 more people and try to teach them. I'm note sure if anyone would be interested in this.

#43 Find something to put my pencil collection in and put it on the bookshelf next to my desk

#53 Walk on the trail starting in Hortonville with Jay and Allison

#68 Watch Pride and Prejudice - maybe while Jay is gone to his friend Dave's mid-month?

#88 Spend a day going to garage sales with Allison

#94 Give a book/take a book from a neighborhood library

Should be interesting in my May update to see if I finished any or all of these in May. It's definitely do-able.
