MARCH RECAP

Again made progress on 5 or 6 goals, and I finished SIX!

#5  Basement organized, everything on shelves

I actually sort of finished this last month - I was waiting until I had sold/given away every last thing from the basement/house declutter. I still have a few Packer items, they're listed on FB Marketplace. But everything else is organized and on shelves so I'm going to call this one DONE.

#21 Read a book in one day.

I read Are You There God, It's Me Margaret in one evening. I haven't read this since I was a preteen, but I felt like I remembered every single sentence as I reread it for the millionth time.

#29 Participate in "Middle Grade March" - read at least one middle grade book per week in the month of March

I read:

-Are You There God, It's Me Margaret by Judy Blume, 5 stars

-Prairie Lotus by Linda Sue Park, 2 stars

-Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman, 3 stars

-Blended by Sharon Draper, 3 stars

-Deenie by Judy Blume, 4 stars

-Izzy, Willy-Nilly by Cynthia Voigt, 5 stars (loved this one!)

#36 Be able to identify every country in the world

I used the quizzes at Seterra.com and memorized all the countries on each continent. There are some small island nations I didn't include but I'm not going to worry about them. THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN! I love that now when I hear of a country I know exactly where it is. I'm going to try to review once a week or so on Seterra.com so I can continue to know these.

#69 Go to a movie at the theater

I saw the new Tom and Jerry movie with Allison. I really liked it! I laughed a lot.

#71 Listen to 5 songs each by 5 classical composers

I listened to (at least) 5 songs by:

-Beethoven

-Mozart

-Rachmaninoff

-Tchaikovsky (my favorite!)

-Wagner (not my favorite)

NOT BAD!!!

JANUARY RECAP

I've made a lot of progress on many goals and finished a few in January:

#1 I found a resource to do at OT Survey study. I already own it! It's called Reproducible Maps, Charts Timelines and Illustrations. I didn't even remember I had this. There are summaries of every book in the Bible and maps and timelines and extra information. I'm in the middle of several other studies right now but hope to start this later this summer or fall.

#3 Finished a few more attributes of God.

#4 I did a few devotions in Less Clutter, More Joy by Karen DeBeus.

#5 Basement is ALMOST done! Everything has been decluttered, put in tubs or organized in some way, and put away. Several bags of things have been taken to Goodwill. The only thing I have left to do is sell/give away a few things. This goal will definitely be DONE in February.

#6 This is DONE! Closet is decluttered and organized and there are even plenty of open spots on the shelves.

#13 I started another Mother Bear on 1/1 and am almost done.

#14 Finished knitting a hat and will donate these next month.

#25 Started and finished The Drowner by John MacDonald and put Malice Aforethought by Francis Isles on hold at the library (it's on order and I'm #2 on the holds list so not sure when I will get this.) Then I will only have The Secret History (a long one) left before I read Eight Perfect Murders. I have The Red House Mystery on my Kindle, tried to read it but couldn't get into it. I may or may not give it another try, might just call that one a dnf and move on. I also tried to read the play Deathtrap and couldn't get into that one so I'm not going to read it.

#36 I'm almost done memorizing the countries of Europe then I will just have Asia, Antarctica, and Australia left. Then I will spend a month reviewing everything until I can do every continent with at least 90% accuracy then I will consider this done. I am really enjoying doing this! I am using the map quizzes on seterra.com to help with this. It's fun!

#39 I bought a new puzzle. DONE.

#81 I am working on my dog puzzle. I'm about 50-60% done.

#82 Took the family selfie on the last day of January. :-) So far on track to do 12 months in a row. I've only been able to get all 5 of us one month, it's next to impossible to have us all in one place at one time. This month's photo was Jay, me, Lindsey, and Allison.

#84 I finished my yarn puzzle. There was one piece missing, grrr! But DONE.

#86 Sold or gave away all the homeschool books that I didn't want/need anymore. Kept a few since I'm homeschooling Allison again. So DONE.

#100 Had a rock painting day with all my sisters at Kathy's. So fun and DONE.

I am being much more purposeful this time around with working on various goals. Other times I have done this months have gone by where I didn't even think about my list. This time I write down some doable goals to work on or finish at the beginning of each month and try to review those at least once a week.

Recap of October

There's not much to add from what I last posted. I haven't completed anything else but I have still been working on:

Writing down the attributes of God.

I listened to 5 songs by a classical composer (Beethoven).

I had an eye exam but I still need to order glasses.

I did a few pages in my puzzle book.

I memorized all the countries in South America and am working on Africa. I found an online quiz where you have to answer "Where is X country?" on a map and it gives you a score. I almost have all the countries done (there are many more in Africa than in South America!).

I added a few dollars to my container of coins.

I put about 5 more pieces in my yarn puzzle (it's hard!).

I took a family selfie.

**************

So I've basically been working on the same goals but have made progress in most of them. I hope to do a few new ones in November
