FINAL UPDATE!

1001 Things in 101 Days List #3 is in the books. I completed 63 goals. I have my next list ready, starts tomorrow July 1. I will post that later.

Here's what I finished in June:

#22 - Ask 5 people their favorite book and read them. So....technically I only completely read 4. But I tried so many other books recommended, and didn't like any of them. But I'm calling this goal done anyway, since I did at least try all the recommended books except a few I couldn't get from the library.

#50 - Go to 3 libraries you've never been to. Allison and I visited the New London library on our way home from visiting friends on June 21.

#78 - Save $50 in change - I took it to the credit union on June 20 and there was a little over $100!

#88 - Spend a day going to garage sales. I decided to count the day I went to multiple sales with my sisters on April 25. It wasn't all day but I'm going to say close enough!

#94 - Leave a book and take a book at a neighborhood "library" - Ginny and I went to 2 by Riverside Park. I left a few books but there was nothing even remotely like something I wanted. So two days later Allison and I visited a few, left 2 more books, and picked up a picture book and a book about drawing people (cartoonish) I was hoping to find an adult book but maybe another time. It was fun doing this so I'd like to go to some more.

I will post the completed list separately. I'm excited for my next list. Yay me!

JANUARY - MAY RECAP!

I haven't done much on my list in the year 2023 (wah wah) so I haven't been updating the blog. I have just over 3 weeks to finish this list. It won't happen. But I hope to at least finish a few more things. I already started my next list but need a few more ideas. I hope to start that one on July 1. This one ends on June 29.

FINISHED:

#53 Go on a walk on the trail in Hortonville...Jay, Allison, and I went Friday, May 26.

WORKING ON / HOPE TO FINISH

#22 Ask 5 people their favorite book and read them.....I've read 4 and am currently reading the 5th. I got more than 5 favorite book recommendations but I started and dnf'd several.

#50 Go to 3 libraries you've never been to. I need one more. I went to the Lake Geneva and Madison libraries.

#78 Save $50 in change. This may be accomplished already, I need to count it.

THINGS I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED  BUT HOPE TO DO YET

# 56 Eat a whole meal with chopsticks.

#68 Watch Pride and Prejudice.

#77 Take a day out for myself.

#88 Spend a day going to garage sales.

#94 Leave a book and take a book at a neighborhood "library".

There are a few more I would like to try to accomplish but I doubt they will happen.

I have about 30 unfinished goals from this list that I am carrying over to the next one.

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER RECAP

I only finished one thing, in November....

#10 - Set up a Pinterest board for every room in the house - I think I actually had this done a long time ago but I was waiting to add more things. But I actually do have a board for each room even if there is nothing or only a few things in some of them. So calling it done.

Goal for 2023 is to try harder to get at least 1/2 of the remaining goals done!

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER RECAP

I finished 2 goals before September but forgot to record them:

#10 Set up a Pinterest board for every room in the house. I have a board for each room but a few room boards have nothing in them but I realized I could count this as done since I did "set up" a board for each room.

#11 Do 5 small home improvement projects... I bought a picture of a do in glasses back in spring or early summer and forgot to count it.

In September I finished:

#101 Do a Random Act of Kindness... When Jay and I were in Door County in September for our 35th anniversary we went out for ice cream and only had a $10 bill for the tip so we just gave it to the counter girl. The bill was only just under $11 I think so that's an almost 100% tip and I'm going to count it as a RAK. It was definitely random, it was a spur of the moment decision, not planned.

In October Ginny and I went to the Madison library. I need to visit one more library to complete #50.

I think I am slowing down on completing goals because most of the "easier" goals are done. I want to fill my next list with 3/4 easy goals. :-)

JUNE RECAP

I finished #1 - Old Testament Survey. I put together my own study and I learned a lot.

I finished #27 - Read the entire catalog of one author - Colleen Oakley.  I think I actually finished this in May oops. The books I read were:

  • The Invisible Husband of Frick Island
  • Before I Go (my favorite of the 4)
  • You Were There Too
  • Close Enough to Touch (my least favorite)
That's it. I think I slow down on this list in the summer. I have one year left!

MID-YEAR RECAP

I keep forgetting to update this blog and I'm nor positive about exactly what progress I've made and what I've finished since my...
